UraStop: Pros & Cons
What Is Included Inside the UraStop’s Box?
It comes in a pill bottle with some cotton balls for padding. The instructions, patent pending document and letter from the inventor are also included. The presentation is very basic and it seems they packed this by themselves in a garage somewhere. After paying $38.99 for this I feel that I was ripped off.
- 1x Incontinence Clamp.
- 1x User Manual.
- Cotton balls for padding.
How Does the UraStop Clamp Work?
If you have agile fingers and patients this might be the clamp for you. You first need to unscrew the small bolts and remove one of them to open the clamp. Be careful not to lose said bolt or the clamp will be useless. After the clamp is open you can use one hand to center your penis into the middle of the bottom arm and then close the clamp over the top of your penis. If you are lucky you won’t pinch yourself and if you’re magic, you will alight the screw on the bottom arm with the screw hole on the top arm. Once those have been aligned you will be about to screw the bolt and lock the arm into place. This is a miserable experience.
Comfort / Adjustable
This is my least liked clamp for its discomfort and difficulty of use. Adjustment is possible with this clamp. You just need to unscrew the bolts on either end of the UraStop to do so. This means two hands and some patience. As I mentioned above, this clamp irritated my skin. In the instructions they say to frequently apply skin moisturizer but I would suggest wrapping tape around the clamp arms and using vaseline.
The UraStop comes with a few A4 paper instructions. The instructions are detailed and easy to read. They did do a nice job with the technical drawings. I think they could have been simplified and more user friendly had they taking the time to think about the customer experience.
Summary
This clamp is not easy to use. It does stop leakage but for the price I suggest going with another option. The clamp irritated my skin and I ended up losing one of the screw bolts shortly after I took the images for this review. The bright side is that it is easy to clean and light weight, but I think this should be a $8.99 product and not $38.99. I don’t suggest for those reasons.
